Day Technician Service
The Day Technician Service is designed to meet the
basic needs of a school in terms of providing direct
on-site support. The core service offered is as follows:
Housekeeping and Maintenance Tasks
- Microsoft updates on servers and unused PCs
(including latest service packs).
- Analysis of event viewer logs / investigation of
any subsequent problems /deletion of logs.
- Defragmentation of the servers and unused
workstations - however, this will interrupt the
service and should be conducted outside of core
times on request (i.e. schools holidays).
- Deletion of temp internet, *.tmp files.
- Antivirus update check and as necessary install
updates.
- Check server backups and clean drives.
- Restore checks for backup integrity.
- Check available space on server shared drives.
- Health check of server hard drives.
- Check network / CPU / memory performance on
servers and available workstations.
- Delete old user accounts / add extra users, inc
email, where necessary.
- Check software versions and licenses subject to
audit.
- Tidy switch cabinets / label as necessary.
- Update asset register and initial audit.
Installation of software on individual PCs not part
of an installation.
Blocks of days can be purchased and drawn down as
single days throughout the year. Note: Technician
days will need to be confirmed with our service
department. Please note that the same day per week
cannot be guaranteed and on occasions there may be a
change in the technician allocated to account for
illness, leave or other unforeseen diversions that
may occur from time to time. A day constitutes 6
hours on-site time to account for travel time. |
